Thanks for advertising at Wedding Planning Links (.com).

My goal is to help you get more quality traffic to your website, get better results, and close more sales.

Here are some ideas that will help you get even better results from the advertising you do at Wedding Planning Links (.com) or at any other website for that matter.

Open Strong

You have about six to ten seconds to get a bride's attention once she gets to your website. Think of your website like a newspaper. Newspapers ALWAYS put their most important information on the front page, "above the fold". Why? Because it's the information people want to read first. It's the most interesting information. It's why people buy newspapers!

Brides want the same thing: the information they came looking for. The first page at your website should immediately answer these questions for any bride/groom visitor:

"What's in it for me?"

"What are your credentials?"

"What have you done for others?"

"Why are you as good as you say you are?"

"How do I contact you right now?"

Make It Easy To Contact You

Is your phone number at the top of all your pages AND at the bottom? Or are you going to make a bride/groom "click" to find it. To get the best results the answer is: Put it everywhere, including your headers and footers.

Review Your Copy

Brides will choose your products or services when they can "see themselves" using them.

Instead of using wording like:

"We're the premiere wedding band in Boston"

or

"We're the most sought after wedding band for live entertainment in Boston"

maybe try...

"You and your guests will dance the night away with incredible music and entertainment throughout your wedding reception. Your guests will have an fantastic time at your wedding and it will always be a day you remember as incredible when you hire ABC Entertainment. Don't take it from us, take it from other brides and grooms <link to your testimonials page here.

Sell the "sizzle", sell the "emotion". Convey this using good copy and support it with great pictures. That's what turns brides and grooms that visit your website into inquiries and then sales!

Use An Inquiry Form

A good inquiry form will deliver qualified leads. Avoid using an email-only contact option. Brides don't mind filling in forms. It's part of life on the Internet. You'll find leads that come in using forms are much more valuable than just "emails" that usually leave out important information like the wedding date, phone number, or mailing address.

Don't Ask For Too Much

The best contact forms are brief, easy-to-use, and as a result typically facilitate more inquiries. Avoid asking for too much information up front or you might scare off people and lose the inquiry. I wouldn't ask for more than 8 to 12 different data fields. If you use pull-down boxes or check-boxes you might be able to bump this up a bit, but if you get up into the 15-20 data fields range your form might be perceived as too much of a hassle. Brides are always in a rush. Respect their time. Get the inquiry!

Common form fields include:

Bride's Name
Groom's Name
Contact EMAIL
Contact Phone
Mailing Address, City, State, Zip
Best Time To Contact You
Wedding Date
Questions or Specific Needs
How Did You Hear About Us

Make Your Contact Form Too Easy To Find

If your contact form is easy to find you'll get more inquiries. Sounds simple enough but too many webmasters almost hide their "Contact Us" option, making a bride look for it. Where is your "Contact Us" option? Is it at the top and bottom of every page (or a link to it)? Is it integrated into your page copy? Maybe your contact form should be on every page, in the footer? It certainly should be on the most POPULAR pages of your site (as indicated by your web site statistics).

Draw Attention To It Using A Colorful Button or Graphic

Brides read pages from the top down and left to right. When they get to the bottom of a page it's decision time. I also call it "conversion time". Using a colorful and highly visible button ASK them to make an inquiry, right now. If I visited your site today, how well would you capture my attention and get me to your inquiry option?

A few of my favorite buttons include the following text:

"Tell Us How We Can Help You"
"Free Engagement Photo Sitting - Inquire Today"
"Check Our Availability - General Inquiries - Contact Us Today"
"Make An Appointment Online Right Now !!"
"Best Dates Go Fast – Contact Us Today"

Or are you using the boring "Same As Everyone Else's Web Site" buttons like:

"Contact"
"Contact Us"
"Inquiries"

POWER TIP: I’ve also implemented an attractive photo of a bride with a call to action phrase. Using alternative images in different areas of the website proved to be very effective. (example: Smiling bride: “I couldn’t be happier with my wedding photos and you will be too. Click here for more information from ABC Wedding Photography).

Review Your Stats Regularly

We don't pass a counter script at WEDDINGPLANNINGLINKS.COM and instead use a DIRECT LINK to your website. Review your website logs and you'll see is in your stats under referrers. That's the best way to determine how much traffic we're sending to your website. Keep in mind, passing a direct link help your search engine "backward link" value. Combined with other search engine optimization techniques, our direct link can play an important part in achieving better positioning at websites like Yahoo!, Google, and MSN.

I hope you find these ideas valuable and if you use them I'm certain you'll get better results with your website. If you're having trouble or not getting the results you expected, drop me a line here or pick up the phone and give me a ring!

Thanks.
